About the Position

The Principal Business Data Analyst position is responsible for leading and supporting analytic projects within the Global Recognition, Research and Strategic Partnerships (GRRSP) business unit and reports to the Vice President, Global Recognition & Research. As a subject matter expert, this role will collaborate closely with many other subject matter experts and stakeholders throughout our global business to lead and support the development of research insights for executive-level audiences that help the C-Suite understand the essentials factors that create great workplaces around the world, make the business case for this work, and provide unique insights about how they make faster, more meaningful improvements. The Principal Analyst will answer complex questions for executives and our media partners using quantitative and qualitative methods to provide clear, directive, and inspirational insights.

We seek an experienced, solutions-oriented, and data-driven analytics professional who is an organized systems-thinker with strong applied research experience, is collaborative and skilled at working with various stakeholders to apply advanced analytic techniques to uncover new and novel insights, develop exceptional client-facing reports for US and global executive audiences, colleagues, and media partners (including FORTUNE), and establish repeatable approaches to scale that work. The qualified candidate will be able to demonstrate previous work experience leading applied research, and the curiosity and self-drive to learn new techniques and tools to improve the organization continuously.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze large US and global quantitative and qualitative datasets to assess client organizations and global trends, translating findings into strategic insights and recommendations.
• Utilize advanced statistical techniques to explore structured and unstructured data, identify trends, and generate insights on key strategic topics.
• Create data visualizations and reports to communicate findings effectively.
• Develop client- and media-ready insights by analyzing employee experience data and researching external data sources.
• Lead and support the development of new analytics, methodologies, reports, and tools that enhance the Global Recognition & Research team’s scalability and excellence.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand client, media partner, and licensee needs, data-related requirements, and team objectives.
• Lead collaboration with cross-functional project teams to rapidly develop data-driven insights, actionable recommendations, and other solutions.
• Effectively communicate complex research findings to non-technical, executive-level clients, US business unit leaders and colleagues, global licensee audiences, and media partners through exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree or seven years of professional experience in people analytics, data science, applied research, as a management consultant, or related field.
• 5-10 years of experience in quantitative and qualitative research, including literature reviews, competitor analysis, text analytics, and employee survey analysis.
• 5-10 years of experience synthesizing research and data into exceptional client or media deliverables, particularly for an executive-level audience.
• Demonstrated workplace experience in R and Python, including developing algorithms and scripts.
• Demonstrated workplace proficiency in statistical techniques, analytics, and data visualization.
• Experience leading analytic initiatives, including designing scope, managing hours and timelines, and creating deliverables.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to synthesize complex research findings and communicate practical implications to non-technical, executive-level audiences.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm in collaborating efficiently with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of a company.
• Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external clients to define business requirements and quickly develop and iterate solutions to meet them.

• Aptitude and interest in the creative ambiguity that accompanies designing and building new practices within an existing organization.
• Team player who can effectively toggle between leader and follower, owner and contributor, and between mainstage and backstage roles as required to achieve desired outcomes.

The pay range for this position in Colorado, New York, Washington, and California is $137,900 to $198,250 however, the base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location. This position is also eligible for a short-term incentive and a long-term incentive as part of total compensation.
